Who we are

Gland Group

Founded in 1974 by Mr. PVN Raju in Hyderabad, the Gland group of companies has established a significant footprint in the pharmaceutical and biochemical industries. The group’s flagship entity, Gland Chemicals, specializes in the manufacture of biochemicals through global-scale facilities located in Bengaluru, Aurangabad, and Chennai. While the group previously built the world-class injectable manufacturer Gland Pharma before divesting it in 2017, it has continued to expand its industrial capabilities.

Most recently, in April 2024, the Gland Family Office’s GCBC Vaccines leveraged its extensive expertise in sterile manufacturing to acquire Sanofi’s production facilities in Medchal and Muppireddypally.

  • The group is run by a team of professionals led by Dr. Ravi Penmetsa and Dr. Vishy Chebrol, who have deep experience in building and operating businesses in the pharma industry.
  • GCBC Vaccines is led by Dr. MRK Raju, who is an expert in the end-to-end life cycle management of Vaccines and Biomolecules. Has 25 years of experience with a Ph.D in Microbiology & Immunology from Australia.
